Days 4 & 5: Three Gentlemen of Verona

Day 4: We set off out of Luzern fairly early, via a trip to a Military Surplus Store where we hoped to find spare parts for our Tilly lamps (unfortunately we didn’t, oh well its not dark ‘til late anyway). We crossed over the alps mostly without incident – this might be because we cheated and went through the Gothard Tunnel . Powering through through the miles we decided to pass our scheduled stop and camped up just outside of Verona on the edge of the very beautiful Lago di Garda.

Turns out Lago di Garda is lovely and warm, perfect for cooling off after a long day’s drive. iPhone’s aren’t keen on pedallos though. That is a lesson well learnt.

Day 5: We managed to escape Verona without paying for camping, whoops… We also learnt that Italian croissants are not as nice as French ones. Top Tip!

Powering through Italian towns we “enjoyed” a 70min Christmas Megamix and a few other delights from the playlist. We decided to have a touristy afternoon in Venice, enjoying the last bit of Western Europe whilst we can. The park-and-boat into Venice was reasonably priced, and once in Venice we enjoyed some Italian Pizza, Pasta and wine.

We decided to head out of Venice to camp, and despite Tom’s best  efforts to get us lost we eventually found our way to a nice campsite with wifi, where we’ve bumped into some fellow brits, beverages due to happen shortly….

(As usual, photos etc on the facebook due to uploading abilities…)
